The TaskList Applet provides a popup list displaying the icons of the running applications (see notes below for more detail). Its most useful when you have very little space left on the taskbar for all the applications you are running - you can use the applet's popup menu to quickly switch between any of the applications, which isn't always possible from the taskbar.
This applet is driven by the contents of the .desktop files in the Tab folders under /home/QtPalmtop/apps. For each application it finds it tries to determine if there is an application qcop channel registered, and if there is the icon given in the .desktop file is added to the popup menu. Then selecting the icon from the popup menu will attempt to bring that application to the front of the screen. What this can mean is that if Qtopia has started any applications (e.g. qtmail, qtsamba) behind the scenes then these will appear in the popup menu - currently there is no way of distinguishing between an user invoked application or a qtopia started application.
Updated to version 1.0.5.
Menu format configurable via $HOME/Settings/TaskListApplet.conf. Supports the original three settings: TextAndIcon, TextOnly and IconOnly along with the new TaskBar format. This version can now also raise the desktop.
